TSI’s newest business is TAKE 5 for K9s, a dog walking service that creates rich experiences for pet-loving individuals and contributes to the well-being of dogs in foster care and those owned by lower-income elderly and disabled individuals. Currently TAKE 5 for K9s walks dogs for the Heaven Can Wait Animal Society’s weekly adoption event. As individuals develop and strengthen their dog walking skills, services will be offered to participants in the Meals on Wheels program, and residents of senior citizen apartment complexes.

As a part of Transition Services “Projects 4 Pets”, TAKE 5 for K9s represents the first of many pet-related employment opportunities for the individuals at Transition Services. Born of our mission to create employment that caters to the individual interests of our program participants, working with animals has been a long-awaited dream-come-true for so many. Building relationships between pets and people with disabilities has been shown overwhelmingly beneficial in numerous ways. We are anxious and excited to get these projects underway and offer even more great business services to the Las Vegas community.

As with all our new start-up businesses, costs can be overwhelming at first.
